Today’s focus is on the concept of comparative advantage and learning how to exploit it for admissions.

If you are in a position where you cannot do much to adjust your resume or add significant contributions, then this is the article for you.

It does not matter if you are applying to community college or to med school, understanding the concept of comparative advantage can be the difference in acceptance and rejection.

What is a comparative advantage?

In economics, the concept of comparative advantage relates to a country or business’s ability to produce goods or services at a lower opportunity cost.

In admissions, it is understanding what you can do easier than others can. 

Simple concept, not so simple execution. 

Most people who apply to college have a simple strategy - try to get as many achievements as possible, look as impressive as they can, and hope that it is enough to get into college.
