Welcome back! At Admissions Decisions, we typically focus on the admissions process for students based purely on how things are.
We do not engage in hypotheticals or discussions of fairness.
That is driven primarily by our view that what-if scenarios and philosophical debates around what admissions should be are largely irrelevant - they have nothing to do with whether or not an applicant will be accepted.
That gets us some complaints but honestly, that does not really phase us.
But there are times where we believe there is such disruption potential that will impact the admissions process that we have to speculate what it will mean.
AI is that disruption.
If you are not into future predictions, you can skip this. But if you have a child that has a few years to go before they apply to college, you may want to indulge.
